When you travel to the south from gulf, you pass through a lot of holidays places such as; Dikili, Çandarlı, etc…Foça (Phokaia) famous with Turkish sailors, is also on your way. If you want to visit the capital city of Lydia, you must leave the coast. Modern and lovely Izmir is on the gulf which has the same name. On the west of Izmir, Çeşme takes place on the peninsula with the deep blue sea, beautiful beaches, and thermal water centres. Ephesus, the most important city of Roman Ion cultures, is not far away from Izmir. Artemis temple, one of the seven miracles of the word and many other historical works of art are in this city.
A little bit south of Ephesus, you are able to visit Priene ancient city. Priene was the trade and cultural centre of Miletos. Didyma although is an ancient city. It is also famous with Apollon Temple. Aphrodisias is on the Izmir Antalya highway. It is famous with the schools of sculptures. Travelling to Antalya, it should not be forgotten Pamukkale (Cotton Castle). You can take a bath in the water of Pamukkale. Behind of this natural beauty, Hierapolis can be visited too.
